A Beautiful Death... the Ranunculus

The ranunculus, a favorite on Pinterest and Instagram, therefore a favorite with brides. For good reason. There is something truly magical about these blooms. I love the fact that within one bunch of ten stems you can have ten different shades and tints of a color. Their long stems twist and reach effortlessly and expressively above the arrangement into that all important negative space where a single bloom’s form is truly celebrated. I know my infatuation with flowers can seem a bit much, but I just can’t help it

The ranunculus also dies beautifully. Woohoo! And so we take a close look at the death of ranunculus.

I want to quadruple my own backyard stash of ranunculus next year. Trying to figure out where to add some garden square footage with raised beds....
