This morning, the green fists of the peonies are getting ready
to break my heart
as the sun rises,
as the sun strokes them with his old, buttery fingers.
— Mary Oliver, “Peonies”

Flowers break my heart, they rock my world. I proudly assert that I am a botanical nerd. Flowers inspire me everyday and fill my life with beauty.

Color, texture, and a sense of movement are the floral elements that most influence my designs. Color instantly evokes emotion. Texture enlivens our desire to touch. Giving blossoms and foliage room to breathe celebrates their natural form and individual beauty.

I love brainstorming and collaborating with my clients. I am passionate about what I do and want to share that passion with the people I am working for. Together we discover how to capture each person's style and vision with flowers.

The Black House Flowers studio -- located in the North Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle, and overlooking the ever-changing waterscape of Lake Union -- is where I ponder, grow, and create.
